My goodness, Shannon! I found myself giggly at the surprising qafiya (is that the right name for the "xxone" sounds?)—not "LOL" giggly but just the joy of discovery that comes with reading a great line. And oh, the poem captures so much of the terrible assumptions of patriarchy. Thanks for sharing it (and the lit match under your name.)

A ghazal for reading without a seatbelt or safety helmet. This is the time for this. We need voices we have no defense from that serve up wisdom warm and alarming. Thank you, Shnnan.

This is something new !! it could well be a Rolling Stones hit..but Keith has to bring a new riff and Mick a new pas de deux..which I suppose they could easily do.

Hey there Shannon! Immediately clicked on this when I saw it was a Ghazal. I just learned how to write this format myself. Was impressed at the depth you covered of the topic while sticking to the structure-- you're clearly a professional at this! So much caught my focus, but especially the mention of doctors 'deny'. Even that institution needs to be micromanaged and scrutinized so we can take care of OUR bodies! Excellent excellent read!!!
