There's nothing I enjoy more than "no bullshit," particularly in list form. I need to practice that more. So, I'm staying. I think you might actually get more subscribers.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I'm subscribed to so many newsletters and Substacks, and I probably only read a fourth of them, but I have a hard time being honest with myself about which ones are worth the computer time and which aren't. (Yours is definitely worth it, hands down.)

If you get to a place where you've figure out how much and from whom you want your words and energies to come from over others (terrible sentence god), then do share
If I could receive the writing of only those to which I’m subscribed, this might be manageable. But Substack keeps throwing unwanted stuff at me. Even so, it does take some pruning now and then. But it is rare to get unvarnished, yet skilled writing and that would be you. So keep it coming and I’ll apply the filters when needed. Focus at the moment is publishing my novel, the Spirit of Thunder Beach, so less attention to the feed lately.
Def not unsubscribing but absolutely second the sentiment. Gotten to the point where I have to do multiple passes of my unread inbox to eventually make a narrowed down ‘saved’ list of things I might maybe someday read some day. Daily.
OK, I don’t know why you think that’s a list of reasons for people to unsubscribe from you. I’ve just found you in the same normal way that people find other people here on Substack that they didn’t come looking for. And I think at least 17 of those things you said are actually reasons to follow you. One of them made me sit up and take notice right now about something that’s just been floating around vaguely asking to be considered so thank you.

If I HAD to choose my top reasons for staying: 2, 10, 11, 14, 18, 19 & 1 - we’re all just making this made up stuff as we go, right?
I do feel oversubscribed, here and in life. Like most writers I need a good edit, but Beautiful Losers remains.
