This came at the PERFECT time! I am subscribing and I am excited to read and learn! Thank you!! So freaking hyped (just pretend that was really poetic)
I would love to enroll in this kind of study gift! I love poetry , I love writing ! My craft in writing is not up to all my ideas, all the things I need to say before I die. And, my poetry chops are even more delinquent compared to what I would like to express poetically. 🙏🏾🤗☀️✍🏽
as a former educator and a freshman poet, i sincerely look forward to your curriculum experiment. i hope you love the process of it. i fucking LOVED teaching. it blew my skirt up every damn day to walk into a classroom and do my thing. the fact that people paid tuition should have probably made me nervous, but i was soooo in my element...the brainstorming, the discussions, the exchange of ideas and processes...i felt like i was standing in front of a room/lecture hall full of teachers and * i * was the student. i know, i know...corny. but SERIOUSLY! it was the first time i felt like i had "a calling." the only thing i love more than teaching is learning shit i don't know. SO GET ON IT GIRL!!! i want to learn stuff! :D
Thank you for this thoughtful blessing as I see it Kathlene. I do think teaching can be exciting and thrilling and all-consuming and perhaps that last bit is what sometimes makes me averse to it? And yet your excitement is contagious I must say
On a tangent, have you noticed that most poets are more interested in writing poetry than reading poetry. Understandable, but the effect is that few give more than lip service to their fellow laborers on Substack. Maybe part of this endeavor could be to encourage us to read, Subscribe, Like and Share other poets' work. If you visit someone's page, especially if you enjoy the read, leave a trace that you were there.
Oh well...yes I have haha. I'll try to touch on this best as I can without stepping on toes...though that's bound to happen. At the end of the day I hope at the very least I'll maintain some grace while I do my toe-stepping
The way this post made me feel my limbs again… and how I very impulsively want to say that my “strikethrough” is *whispers* werewolves.
hahahah I love you Robin
Well, there's a whole poetry curriculum right there!
Eek! Noooo 😂
Yes please!
Thank you for your excitement Camille!!

I'd be in to this! Also, is the name of your substack taken from Leonard Cohen's book? What's the story?
Yes it is! The story is I'm in love with Leonad
